Senecio herreianus, formerly widely known as Kleinia gomphophylla, is a popular hanging plant with oval pointed bead-like leaves on long, hanging sprout axils.

Tradescantia pallida purple heart one high quality cutting - wandering jew
Tradescantia pallida purple heart one high quality cutting - wandering jew

One high quality cutting approx 4 inches - Succulent

Tradescantia is a genus of 75 species of herbaceous perennial wildflowers in the family Commelinaceae, native to the New World from southern Canada to northern Argentina, including the West Indies.

Members of the genus are known by the common name spiderwort.

They were introduced into Europe as ornamental plants in the 17th century and are now grown as such in many parts of the world.

Subsequently, some species have become naturalized in various regions of Europe, Asia, Africa, and Australia, as well as on some oceanic islands.

Tradescantia are weakly-upright to scrambling plants, growing 30 to 60 cm tall (0.98m 1.97 ft), and are commonly found individually or in clumps in wooded areas and open fields.

A number of species have flowers that unfold in the morning and close when the sun shines on the flowers in the afternoon but can remain open on cloudy days until evening.

Three species known colloquially as "Wandering Jew", one native to eastern Mexico, also belong to the genus Tradescantia.

Other names used for various species include spider-lily, cradle-lily, oyster-plant and flowering inch plant.

The genus is of interest to cytogenetics because of evolutionary changes in the structure and number of their chromosomes. In addition to their use as ornamentals, Tradescantia is of economic importance because a number of species have become pests to cultivated crops.

They have also been used as bioindicators for the detection of environmental mutagens. - In Stock

Portulacaria afra Variegated - elephant bush 1 quality cutting
Variegated Portulacaria Afra Elephant Bush 1 High quality cutting dwarf jade plant

Packed so they will arrive in good condition

We trim some of the lower leaves off, we recommend you only leave the top 2 inches of leaves

The more leaves you leave on the cutting the less likely it is to root

Description: It is a soft-wooded, semi-evergreen upright shrub or small tree, usually 2.5–4.5 metres (8–15 ft) tall.

Similar in appearance to the unrelated "jade plant" Crassula ovata (family Crassulaceae), P. afra has smaller and rounder pads and more compact growth (shorter internodal spaces, down to 1.5 mm).

It is much hardier, faster growing, more loosely branched, and has more limber tapering branches than Crassula once established.

Within the genus Portulacaria, it has been shown to be an outlier, relatively unrelated to the other species in the genus, which are all restricted to small ranges in the arid far west of southern Africa.

Distribution and habitat It is very widespread in the east of South Africa (including Swaziland).

In this moist climate, it is relatively rare, and tends to favour dryer rocky outcrops and slopes.

It is also found in much denser numbers in the dryer southern Cape.

Here it occurs from the "Little Karoo" of the Western Cape, eastwards up until the thicket vegetation of the Eastern Cape.

Spekboom is found most prolifically in the Albany thickets, a woodland ecoregion, which locally is often called noorsveld, after the high number of succulent Euphorbia species, which are often called noors plants.

Cultivation and uses Prostrata" decumbent variety

In the wilds of South Africa, large plants do survive the winter frosts by growing dense enough to provide their own natural cover. Drought-tolerant and fire-resistant, it will endure desert sun and heat once established, which the jade plant will not.

They go this amazing Mauve / Purple colour when exposed to sun and heat

Shipping in a rigid box

Bryophyllum fedtschenkoi is a species native to Madagascar widely sold as a house or garden plant that has established itself in the wild in some southern parts of the United States of America.

The specific epithet fedtschenkoi honors botanist Boris Fedtschenko (1873-1947)

Bryophyllum fedtschenkoi is a low-growing, frost-tender perennial succulent that prefers dry, open ground.

It grows to 10–12 inches (25–30 cm) as an untidy, low, rounded herb.

The stems are round, smooth and lax with visible leaf scars, often bending to touch the ground where they produce roots and a new plant.

Leaves are simple, fleshy, alternate, blue-green and oval or obovate with fine scalloped edges, the edges may turn pink or red under strong sunlight or drought conditions.

The tubular flowers are carried in corymbs, often multi-layered in good conditions.

Each flower has a short calyx edged with delta-shaped segments, the calyx is shorter than the tubular corolla.

The corolla is an orange/coral/apricot colour.

The flowers hang down.

Commonly called ‘Lavender Scallops’ from the shape and colour of its leaves.

It has few pests but may be susceptible to mealy bug or occasionally scale insects. - In Stock
